Costume designer / stylist

Born in Brussels in 1981 from Dutch-Belgian-Norwegian parents, I was raised in Dutch and French and am fluent in both languages.

I attended the European School in Brussels, where I also took evening classes in fashion design at the Saint Luc school, and with my baccalaureate in my pocket, I left for Paris.

After 3 years in Paris, I got my degree as ‘styliste/modéliste’ at the Atelier Letellier. During these years I had the opportunity to work as a stylist assistant on shoots and as a dresser on many fashion-shows. But I missed Brussels …

So I came back and after a few months of training in advertising, I secured a job as an assistant to a stylist in advertising/cinema.

In 2005 I set up my own business as a costume designer in advertising, video clips, photo, documentary fiction and fiction. My work ranges from developing mood boards, creating looks and costumes, managing budgets and teams, through shopping and searching my very large stock in Brussels, to trial and final fittings and, obviously, overviewing shootings. I sometimes work for other stylists, mostly from abroad, who often feel more comfortable with an assistant with her own stock and a solid experience.  I very much appreciate the mutual learning these collaborations bring. The final result can be unexpected, but it will always boost my adrenaline levels, even after all these years! I love seeing the outcome of a new project, it’s like embarking on a new adventure, and that is what I prefer in this job…

I am based in Brussels and collaborate with LatchoDrom, DisturbStudio, Doubledouble, Déjà !, Birthproduction, Camera Lucida, Insurrection, Quad, Bangbang, Filmmakers, Les films Pelleas, Caviar, Lovo….
